Cooper Who?

Cooper Barrett. It's no coincidence that one of the most popular characters of the last few years shares the same last name. One Brenda Barrett. I have heard the rumors that ABC is looking for an actress to play the new Brenda and I guess this is their way of bringing her back to town. I feel kinda whatever about it. If they can find an actress who has the same charisma as the original Brenda and her story lines are compelling, then it'll be good. But it's a tall order. I'm digging the idea of Kate and Sonny and I'm sure Brenda and Sonny will get back together (which will drive Carly wild - which will be fun to watch). At any rate, I'll be on the lookout for Coop's sister (or cousin or something) to head back to Port Charles.

Her?!?!?!

So this chick, Maureen?, is baby Jake's kidnapper? Well, OK, they did have me fooled. I knew it wasn't Sam or Amelia or Jerry Jax and I hoped that it wasn't some random stranger and I guess that I should have seen it coming, so the GH gods do get points for that. But I don't like the fact that Sam knew about it all along and didn't tell Jason. Yes, she wanted baby Jake out of the picture and yes she probably felt sorry for Maureen because she knows what it's like to loose a baby, BUT STILL!!! Sam could have been the big hero. An everyday hero, if you will. Actually, an everyday hero wouldn't have hidden behind a bush and watched the whole thing happen, so maybe she knows what she's doing.

But here's what could have happened:

I really thought the baby napper was Scott Baldwin and I think that would have been an awesome storyline. See, Scott k-naps baby Jake as a bargaining chip for Laura. When he exposes himself as the culprit, he can exchange a trade. As much as Luke wouldn't want Scott to have Laura, could he let Scott keep his grandson from Liz and Lucky?? Now, that's a story!!! I'm not giving up on it.....

OK, so what happens now?

My prediction:

Jason tracks down Maureen and forces her to give baby Jake back. Lucky confronts Amelia about taking the baby to raise her ratings but Amelia tells him that Jason is on Maureen's tail. Lucky and Liz show up just as Jason is rescuing the kiddo and Liz rushes to her baby and her baby daddy and Lucky figures out that Jason is Jake's true father. (Hopefully the writers can come up with something a little more exciting than that - my Scott Baldwin theory is up for grabs.)

A Hairy Situation...

First order of business: What is up with Jason's new do?? He'd been slicking it back for a while, so it was lying in wait, but today: the beast exposed itself. It looks like my 9th grade haircut when I was growing it out of the horrible boy-short cut that I got on a whim. I'm not feeling it, Jas. Uh, but it looks like Carly might be soon.... Jason went to the Metro Court to meet up with Carly and they got locked in the boiler room (locked in, of course!) But when Carly loosened a steam valve the only way that Jason could secure it was with his shirt!!! What's with the wife beater? Take it all off.... Not too sure what going to happen there and while I would LOVE to see an eventual Carly/Jason hook-up, I don't think now is quite the right time. Jason does not need more women problems.

It looks like there is going to be some sort of Jerry/Kate connection. For the record, I love the Kate character as a possible love interest for Sonny. I'm really glad that we're moving away from Sonny and Carly (although someday they should get back together) but I'm a big fan of the Carly/Jax match. I wouldn't have thought so, but it works! And I'm also interested in the Alexis/Jerry storyline, although Jerry really should be dead but I really love Alexis and want her to find a nice man to settle down with. But Jerry really isn't a nice man, so maybe she should stay away from him.

Ummm, other stuff that happened today:

Lu Lu is falling for Logan and Logan is Scott Baldwin's son. Spinelli will be very hurt if Lu Lu falls for another guy.

Maxie advises Sam to give up on Jason, and she makes a good point. Are they wrapping up Sam's storyline because she's leaving the show?

Introductions

OK, I admit it: I'm a General Hospital nerd. I've been watching the bidness of Port Charles since I was about seven. And I've gone in and out over the years but I've been present for most of the major storylines of the past decade including Jason's brain damage, the death of Robin's beloved Stone, the Quartermain adoption of Emily, Lucky cheating on Elizabeth with her sister Sarah (remember way back when Elizabeth used to be a beeotch?), Emily's foray into heroin, Alexis' stint as a man, Maxie's first sexual experience being broadcast over the internet, the sleuthing duo of Felicia and Luke (she was writing a book about somebody), Bobbie and Jerry Jax sexing it up on the hospital conference room table (and it being filmed), just to name a few. So since I like GH, and I like gossiping about GH, I thought I'd start a little blog on the goings on in and around my favorite fictional New York town that is centered around a whole lotta trouble. I will try my best to update every episode or so but please join in!! Tell me what you like or don't like or kinda like, or who you think is hot or not.
